James Earl Jones helped us get an NFL team

Before the Jags came to town we had a slew of Semi-pro and pro football teams but, no NFL team to call our own. But that all changed 31 years ago thanks to our burning passion for pigskin and the late James Earl Jones. He was the voice of the “Pitch Video” that convinced the NFL to grant us an expansion team. The confluence of all the fans of UF, FSU and UGA paired with the deep baritone of Darth Vader and Mufasa changed our story. RIP Mr. Jones. He was 93. Full Jags story here.
